Whisky, But Unexpected

For whisky lovers, there is something special about discovering a drink that challenges the usual way of enjoying the spirit. Beyond sipping whisky neat or ordering an Old Fashioned, creative cocktails can reveal unexpected layers of flavour.

One standout is the Penicillin, a modern cocktail combining whisky with lemon, honey and ginger. Its sweet, citrusy and spicy character is finished with a touch of smoky Scotch, creating a drink that is both comforting and complex.

The Paper Plane takes whisky in a completely different direction. Bourbon meets lemon, Aperol and amaro to create a vibrant cocktail with citrus freshness and a pleasantly bitter finish. It is an excellent choice for those who prefer their whisky experience bright and refreshing.

For something truly unconventional, try whisky with pineapple and black pepper. The tropical sweetness of pineapple contrasts beautifully with the gentle heat of freshly cracked pepper, while whisky provides depth and warmth. It is an unexpected combination that can surprise even experienced whisky drinkers.

Coffee lovers can explore a Maple Whisky Espresso. Espresso, whisky and maple syrup create a rich and warming combination, while a tiny pinch of sea salt can sharpen the flavours. It is particularly enjoyable as an after-dinner drink.

Another creative option is a Smoked Apple Whisky Sour. Fresh apple brings crispness and sweetness, lemon adds acidity, and a subtle smoky note gives the cocktail a distinctive finish. It offers the familiar appeal of a Whisky Sour with a more adventurous personality.
